Quick answer
Before uninstalling a widget-making app, distinguish its saved designs from home-screen placements and Google Play purchases. Identify where designs are stored, use an available export or backup feature, and test that you can reopen the saved file. Removing or clearing the app may erase local documents even if the Pro purchase can later be restored. Try lower-risk fixes such as re-adding a widget first.
Separate the home-screen placement from the saved design
A widget on your home screen is not always the only copy of its design. Many widget apps maintain saved layouts, settings or imported templates inside the app. Removing the widget tile from the launcher may simply remove that placement. Uninstalling the provider app is a different action and can remove local data.
Open the provider app and look for a Gallery, projects list, backup or export function before changing anything. If the app stores designs only on the phone, do not assume that signing into a Google account will restore them automatically.
Identify what the app actually backs up
Check the app's documentation or settings for a supported export or backup mechanism. Look for a file that contains the full layout and any separately referenced images or fonts. A screenshot records appearance but often cannot restore an editable layout or connections to data sources.
If the app has cloud sync, confirm it is enabled and that the current designs have actually synchronized. Do not infer cloud backup from the mere presence of an account login. Our local storage and backup guide explains the difference.
Record what you would need after reinstalling
Write down the names of any important designs, the size of each widget, and which data source it uses. If you have a verified export tool, create a fresh export and verify that the file exists in a location you control. Keep any credentials or private data out of shared screenshots.
A widget that uses a calendar, photo or web service may need to be configured again after reinstalling even if its visual design can be restored. That depends on the app and Android permissions. Only export through the app's supported feature rather than trying to copy hidden app folders.
Try safer fixes first
If the widget is missing, frozen or blank, use the relevant guide before uninstalling. Start with missing widget picker entries, widgets not updating or blank widgets. Test one simple widget on a spare home-screen page to determine whether the problem affects the launcher.
Avoid Clear storage, Clear data or a factory reset until you understand the consequences. Clearing cache is not the same operation as deleting app data, but even troubleshooting menus vary by device. Preserve the saved work first, then follow only recovery steps supported by the app developer.
