Try a simple non-sensitive static widget first. If static text appears but your weather or calendar component does not, the canvas renderer may be fine while the data source is not.
Try it on your home screen
- Notice whether the whole panel is blank or whether a background and border still appear.
- Open the widget app to confirm the saved design has visible text or a graphic.
- Check its source settings and required permissions if the missing value should be live.
- Test a simple static widget from the same app on an empty launcher page.
Check design visibility
Return to the editor without clearing the original document. Inspect whether text is behind a shape, its alpha was turned down or its text color matches the background. Preview with a contrasting temporary background to reveal invisible layers. Check that a group wasn't moved outside the canvas bounds.
Check data setup next
If the element is data-connected, verify the permission state and whether the data source has any records. A new empty tasks list has nothing to show. Health data may require a compatible Health Connect setup and explicit access. A network response may fail when offline.
Recover carefully
Save a copy before making structural changes when the app supports it. Do not clear storage just because a preview looks blank. Compare another home-screen launcher only when you can do so without disrupting your existing layout.

If a basic static widget works but the data-connected one stays empty, investigate the data source rather than resetting the launcher.
