Editorial disclosure

WidgetCraft is made by the team behind this website. We list it first as our own widget builder, explain its limits, and link to competing apps when they are a better fit. This comparison uses publicly described features, not independent hands-on testing.

Pixel owners already have strong built-in clock, weather and At a Glance behavior. Third-party apps are worthwhile when you want a custom focal-point widget or a specific format for calendar and progress information. A Pixel-style clock from another app cannot replace every system feature built into the launcher.

1. WidgetCraft — design an original Pixel-friendly card

WidgetCraft: Widget Maker is the home-screen editor associated with this journal. WidgetCraft can create an oversized date, clock or progress layout with proportions chosen for Pixel Launcher. It is for the editable composition rather than Google's private contextual services. Verify the Play release and placement on the actual device before assuming that the layout will align exactly with screenshots. Its Google Play listing is the source to verify availability and any current purchase terms.

2. Muviz Widgets — Pixel-inspired clock presets

Muviz Widgets is a comparison option for this need. Muviz Widgets explicitly advertises Pixel-style clocks and Material theming. It is useful when you like the look of Google's system clock but want a different face or size without building everything from scratch.

3. Kolor: Material You Widgets — dynamic-color presets with KWGT

Kolor: Material You Widgets is a comparison option for this need. Kolor supplies Material You designs for KWGT. This can suit Pixel users who already own the required KWGT setup and want wallpaper-derived colors. A separate KWGT app and perhaps its Pro features are required; Kolor is not standalone.

4. Google Calendar — real Google schedule information

Google Calendar is a comparison option for this need. Google Calendar is the direct choice when you need upcoming meetings or a month overview on a Pixel. It preserves calendar function instead of placing decorative dates where actual appointments should be.

A practical way to use these widgets

Leave the built-in At a Glance region alone if the launcher treats it as fixed. Place your custom widget beneath it with generous vertical spacing, or move it to another page. Let the wallpaper determine one accent and avoid fighting the Pixel launcher with two oversized competing clocks.

What to verify

Pixel Launcher has its own resize limits and padding, so try a normal built-in widget to establish the available grid. If your design appears cropped, check dimensions before shrinking every font. Confirm that any dynamic-color pack updates with your chosen wallpaper.

Do not confuse a custom clock with At a Glance

Pixel Launcher may reserve the At a Glance region for Google's own contextual information. A third-party clock that resembles Pixel's typography cannot provide every travel, weather or appointment hint that Google's built-in surface may display. If you need those updates, keep the system feature and put the decorative widget below it or on another screen. This avoids duplicate time displays and preserves the information you actually rely on.

How to choose

WidgetCraft leads for a personally designed card, Muviz for quick Pixel clocks, Kolor for KWGT-powered palette matching and Google Calendar for working schedule data.
